Presentation overview:

Why assessing sustainability is too important to outsource

There are a multitude of sources available to investors who want to assess a company’s sustainability. These can be useful for highlighting issues and sourcing data, but we believe that for managers to really understand their investments – and generate alpha – we need to do our own homework. Relying on third parties would be like trying to wear someone else’s glasses – we wouldn’t see a clear picture.

Katherine will illustrate some of the shortcomings of commonly-used scoring systems and the need for a proprietary approach. She will introduce the novel framework used by the Schroders Global Sustainable Growth fund as well as Schroders’ award-winning ‘SustainEx’ tool for measuring and reporting impact.
