Presentation overviewFour seasons in one day.2022 was a year that many may wish to forget with enough “once in 200 year” events to last a millennia. Investing has many parallels with the weather in that each day can look much like the previous until the summer sun is abruptly betrayed by the storms of Autumn. Many market forecasters and all weather strategies were left looking embarrassingly wrong in 2022, betrayed by models that relied on historical data sets being a reliable predictor of the future, including the traditional 60/40 portfolio. At the risk of looking like Michael Fish in the 1980’s, Central bankers around the world claimed inflation wasn’t going to a problem…. Newton puts its Michael Fish jumper on to make some predictions on 2023.
